BLT Sandwich Deli 5

BLT is possibly the most visited lunch spot for the entire office here at Red or Blue Digital.

Yet, this is our first ever review of this amazing little place since the first time our jaws dropped at the ridiculous variations of wraps, carvery, sandwiches and general lunch heaven.

This place is very much all about no nonsense food. It’s premise is simple. Go there, get fed. Done. It’s honest, good food with portion sizes that is fit for any hangover. Current food options include Eddie’s special of Chicken kiev with creamy crunchy coleslaw, cheddar cheese & BBQ sauce. Yep, they really slice up a Chicken kiev and stuff it into a wrap the size of your arm.

The place is always heaving at lunchtimes, mostly with testosterone driven men eager to get our protein fix for the day. Without a formal queue, the place can be daunting for first time visitors but regular will know better then to wait for service, just listen out for what wrap is being made and put your hand up. It can be pot luck but it’s always good.

What makes this place a 5* rated lunch spot isn’t just the substantial lunches. Take the carvery special as shown in the pictures, the carrots are Chantenay variety instead of generic slided budget version, they also have savoy cabbage, fresh sugarsnap peas and when in season purple sprouting broccoli. This isn’t a big deal until you realise this is “just” a deli and in fact it only costs £6.50.

They staff there is great, always with a smile on their face, and it’s small details like this that make this place our most visited lunch spot since we moved to Shoreditch 1 year ago and will continue to do so.
